On the 20th of May 2020 heaven opened their gates to gain another angel. Despina Panayotou will be greatly missed by all. Whether it was sharing a meal or a scotch, playing poker until early hours of the morning or dancing with her walking stick she brought all the people around her so much joy and happiness. Her warming smile and contagious laughter will never be forgotten and will also be the first thing we associate with her. Despina while you may no longer walk the physical earth, we know that you will always walk along side your child, grandchildren and the rest of the family. We are truly blessed to not only have had you in our lives but to have some many happy memories with you in them. May you rest easy now with no pain or suffering and continue your Greek dancing on the clouds above.

For many, a funeral is a ritual of loss and connection where we remember our loved ones who have passed and comfort the living. The coronavirus outbreak has altered that ritual and changed the way we say goodbye: the loss remains, the connections change.

The family has the difficult decision of which twenty people will attend the funeral.  They are aware that many of you would like to attend but unfortunately, due to the restrictions in place, it is not possible.
